First Impression of Shanghai:Classical Chinese Garden yuyuan

Life as an au pair in the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai is more than just a cultural experience, it is also a way of fostering cross-border friendships. Recently, three au pairs from Wanderlust Exchange joined us to explore the Yuyuan Garden, one of Shanghai's most famous attractions. This was not only a journey to learn more about traditional Chinese culture, but also an opportunity to deepen their friendship with each other.

Yuyuan Garden is a typical classical garden in Jiangnan. The stone bridges, pavilions, small paths, and curved water are all meticulously crafted. The au pairs strolled around while enjoying the beauty of the garden and took vivid photos full of ancient charm.

Yuyuan Garden is not only a sightseeing spot, but also the epitome of Shanghai culture. Here, au pairs feel the collision of ancient Chinese culture and modern commercial culture. The exterior of Yuyuan Garden is a bustling old neighborhood with an endless stream of tourists, while the interior is a quiet garden scene with a long winding bridge connecting the old street to the garden, and the water rippling around the long bridge, which combines with the old street perfectly.

Strolling in the Yuyuan Garden, the au pairs seemed to be in an ancient painting. The Nine Curved Bridges, the Pavilion of the Heart of the Lake, the exquisite stone carvings, and the elegant buildings together form a beautiful scene combining motion and stillness. The layout of the Yuyuan Garden emphasizes winding paths and secluded scenery, with each corner exuding a rich historical flavor.

Three Wanderlust Exchange au pairs traveled to Shanghai from different countries and spent the day together building friendships and becoming instant friends. The three au pairs left a group photo in the Yu Garden, marveling at the traditional architecture and the quiet beauty of the small bridges and flowing water as they explored the classical Chinese gardens for the first time.

The hot weather didn't dampen the au pairs' spirits. After the tour of Yuyuan Garden, they tasted the special snacks in the old street outside Yuyuan Garden. Among the delicious pan-fried buns, xiaolongbao (small dumplings), wontons, and ice-sugar gourds, the au pairs were dazzled and couldn't help but praise the Chinese delicacies again and again.

Through this trip to Yuyuan Garden, the three au pairs not only enjoyed the beauty of the traditional Chinese gardens but also deepened their cross-border friendship through each other's company. For them, it was not just a simple trip, but also a memory full of warmth and joy. The three au pairs from Wanderlust Exchange explored and walked around, enriching their lives in Shanghai and deepening their friendship with each other.

Wanderlust Exchange encourages the exploration of self-awareness and personal development , and fostering of global understanding. We desire to bridge cultural divide and contribute to build the world with more trust, understanding and diversity among all.
